Re: [WSSA] (unknown)

Hi Jenny, I have to wondered, so you are not alone on this one! I have talked with Devon's geneticist about it and also a mom of a now....um I think about 26ish yr old son ( Patty, mom, and Jeff the son, Mayor of Everett WA) She said she wondered the same thing as her son was growing too. They actually are not to much different that others kids and young adults! As they hit puberty, they stop growing so fast and peers start to catch up. The one thing that will always stick in my mind is what they said about their feet. They will keep growing until their 20s (as most of our feet do, even in "normal" kids) and almost ALL of the cases known have HUGE feet and hands. Another thing about looks...his geneticist also said that all these kids resemble each other, she explained it to me like this...with down syndrome all the cases have a lot of similar looks, but they also look like their families (eye color, hair color etc) she said that Weaver Syndrome is one of those syndromes that the kids will look alike, although to be quite frank, Earl's picture took me by surprise! Devon and Earl look so much alike, they could be brothers!!! My oldest son has blond hair and blue eyes while Devon has a darker complexion (my oldest is darker, but not like Devon) brown/green eyes and dark brown hair, so weird, I do not think I will ever get over it! Like I said, the geneticist said the kids will resemble each other, but wow! Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, please ask! I wish their were more going on on this site!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
April

Hey Everyone!!
I was hoping to get some help. I don't know why but for the last
couple weeks I've been obsessed wondering what Earl's going to look
like when he gets older. I can't explain why, I've just been going
crazy over it. My boyfriend even searched on line to try and find
pictures of adults with Weavers, hoping that would help me. I'm not
afraid of what he'll look like, just strangely curious. Have any of you
felt like that before? If not thats alright, it wouldn't be the first
time i was the only weird one!! Well hope your all safe and well...talk
to you soon! Jenny
