Documenting calls, emails, letters, faxes establishes the number who were denied access to voice their views and that the station was informed of their views but chose to censor them or give even lip service to them.   It is almost like a petition.  When someone does get through or has another audience to show the number that did call, email, sent letters or faxes it is powerful.     Contacting does not mean it makes it to the air.
