Thank you for your question, Dorita.
I do not know about efforts to contact congressman and senators, but can find out. I have been kept abreast of these development by my friends in the goat dairying business and others. Actually, I was aware of this last February. It is a part of the Sustainable Development/U.N. Agenda 21 movement. See: http://freedom21.org/ and http://www.freedom21santacruz.net/site/
for more details about this issue. I believe Oklahomans need to get familiar with this, and this will be a topic for a future meeting.
I will check with my health freedom colleage here in Oklahoma City to see what she knows as she has been following freedom issues regarding animal owners rights. See: www.oklahomahealthfreedom.org Click on the "State" button and you will find a menu listing our public servants that you can pass around to interested folks. Also, you will notice a button for the Animal Owner's Rights issue. It would be wise to look this over, too, as it deals with how owners can and cannot treat health conditions in their animals. You will find Elissa quite thorough. If you have questions I can pose to her, please send them and I will be glad to send them her way and post replies for the benefit of all our group.
This is another of the issues we can discuss at our next meeting, which I am scheduling for Monday, January 31. The location will be determined and then posted, but I do plan for us to view, in part, the Traditional Foods Preparation Workshop video by Maureen Diaz of a Pennsylvania WAPF chapter. Excellent information.
Also, I have been informed by former Representative Tim Pope that he is having ongoing communications with Rep. Frank Lucas in Washington regarding some of the issues that surrounded Mr. Charles Horn and organic chickens. I will have an update on that, too.
Blessings~

Catherine, have you received much feedback about NAIS? I just learned
about it from a friend who is in the New Okie Pioneer Yahoo group and
has a homestead near Macomb,OK. She asked me to get the word out.
But I see this has come up already in our group. Do you know if there
has been much attempt to contact Congressmen or whomever?
