On the SF-WAPF list I asked how people downed their CLO. One person
told me she takes it with vinegar, holds her breath and goes for it.
It actually isn't too bad that way, tolerable for me.. I tried this
with the flavored one. I now have started to take that one in my
morning smoothie. My doctor told me I should take two kinds--Nordic
Naturals and the one that you get from Radiant Life, because one has
more A and one has more D (depends on the season the cod is used), and
this way you get both vitamins. I have yet to take the new one
(unflavored) by any method... We're remodeling and I only have courage
for so much!!! :-)

I heard a recording of Sally once and she said she takes her CLO by putting it in a cup of water and drinking it down. I've tried it and it seems to work pretty good although my usual method is in a smoothie so I don't taste it at all. I have never used a flavored one.

I though everyone would like to see this:
Dear Ms. Kaplan:
Thank you for your support of our decision to require our suppliers to
forgo the use of rBST, an artificial growth hormone, in the production
of their milk. Your concerns, and comments from other loyal customers,
convinced us that using milk produced without rBST supplementation
better meets our customers' expectations about our brand -- a brand
they associate with premium cheeses made in the century-old tradition
of our founders.
Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) does not intend to label
its products rBST-free. Such labeling might cause consumer confusion
because the FDA has determined that milk from rBST-supplemented cows is
completely safe and there is virtually no difference in milk from
treated and untreated cows. TCCA will, however, inform its consumers
and customers who ask about rBST that it is TCCA's policy to require
suppliers to certify that the milk they produce comes from cows that
are not supplemented with rBST. As an Oregon company producing
consistently high quality cheeses for nearly a century, TCCA prefers
the traditional way of doing things.
Sincerely,
Tillamook County Creamery Association

Green Pastures has introduced a cinammon flavored cod
liver oil (CLO), and has sent our chapter a bottle for
taste testing purposes.
I'll plan to bring this to our March potluck (details
TBD) so that we can all check it out. The Wetzels are
interested in feedback on what we think about the
flavor. Cool, huh?

Hi Stacey,
I didn't find that you were talking too much at all.
We were all quite fascinated with all the stories and
backgrounds that came out. I'm only sorry that I
sometimes had to call "time" on the group so that we
could get everyone in before our bedtimes called :-)
Very, very happy you're in our group!

If someone is really committed to being vegan, then I
think they'd still benefit from the WAPF principles of
soaking grains, crispy nuts, fermented veggies and the
non-meat tonics in NT.
The hard thing for me was that I had just, a few days
before, read this article:
Children on meat-free diets 'suffer impaired growth'
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/science_technology/story.jsp?story=613225
But definitely want to give Julian kudos for being the
type to explore other ideas. I've definitely gone down
some paths in the past that seemed really right at the
time, but later found out weren't correct (for me at
least..)

I'm very excited about the West Coast conference. Thanks for this news. I was already committed that week end and am trying to rearrange things so I can go.
Early registration (starting next week - website still in progress) is $200 for the entire conference and $275 thereafter. Seating for the conference is up to 800 people.
Local hotel and camping available.
The attached .PDF file has the list of speakers - including Sally and Mary Enig.

Speaking of cheese(as in the French) I am part way through "French
Women Don't get Fat," (I think I've marked myself here.) and am
enjoying the book. I think her philosophy on eating and living are very
complimentary to NT. She buys into the American low fat crap somewhat,
but otherwise, it's cheese and pate.

Point of clarification.. I wasn't refering to any chattering on the
list... I was referring to what I knew would be "chattering" and the
rapid-fire idea exchange that would happen if
I went to the meeting and couldn't follow through on things/suggestions
I heard. That's all. No apologies needed.

Wow!! Thank you Stacey, Gabi, Jason, Kathleen, Amy, Carole, Jan and
Julian (who we met there) for such a wonderful, successful first
meeting!
I really loved listening to all the different backgrounds and paths
that have brought us together, but also how many commonalities keep
popping up. Plus I learned a bunch of new tips, and who to talk to
for help with a particular subject. I am just wildly excited to have
people on a common path to share experiences with. Yeah!!
We ended with the idea to plan a potluck around the end of March.
Kathleen has graciously offered to host for us, so I'll work with her
on some possible dates and then put a poll up in our Yahoo!Group so
that we can pick the best date for the most people.
Go Sac Metro Chapter!! :-)

Hi Olivia,
Sorry to hear the hubby is sick! Hope he's feeling better soon. Yes,
remodeling sounds like it can get quite stressful, but just think of
the beautiful house in progress under all the mess!
Just FYI, I expect that we'll often have people in our group that
aren't eating NT-wise. You just have to be okay with listening to
people who do chatter on :-)
Best regards,
Carol

Do Not, I repeat do not buy this book!! It is a total scam. My mother
in law got it for $30 off TV and I read it. It gives no new info and
just keeps refering you to his web site, that you have to pay 9.95 a
month to access or 500.00 for life (what a deal!) He won't reference
a thing in the book because he might get sued, it is all a load of
crap he won't list anything in his book because he wants you to pay
more for the info, info as simple as the name of a colon clense or
anything else for that matter. I am actually pissed off.It doesn't
happen much, if I ever meet this man I would probably punch him in
the nose!! It is one thing for an industry to capitalize on consumers
but it is another when the first 4 chapters of your book is about how
evil it is! What a dumb ass!! His book in a nut shell- The health
industry is bad,go to his web site, don't eat anything man made,go to
his web site, eat raw and organic, go to his web site, etc.
Thanks for letting me vent-

Hi Everyone
As I turns out, I think I'd better pass on this meeting. We are in the
middle of a remodel, and my hubby is sick... plus I feel really bad
that I'm not being so successful (yet) at eating NT- wise while we are
eating in the garage :-) Take good notes!
Olivia
