MARVELOUS MILK THISTLE

Milk thistle grows from its native Mediterranean area to hillsides and roadways in California, where it is considered invasive. Milk thistle also grows wild in parts of South America and Australia. It can form thickets, which contribute to its classification as a nuisance weed. The flowers of milk thistle are red-purple and spiky. The parts of the plant which contain the “actives” (i.e. medicinal properties) are the fruits, seeds, and leaves. LEARN MORE...

CHILDREN GUINEA PIGS?

If you listen to the controlled mainstream media or your “sellout” doctor, then you’re certain to hear that you should “be sure to get your children their yearly vaccines, flu shot, and Gardasil” … it’s “for their own good” of course. Now we can add “anthrax” to the list. Don’t fall for the vaccine lies, folks!  LEARN MORE...

"RAW MILK FREEDOM RIDERS"

In response to these recent raids and armed assaults on our wonderful farmers, a group of raw milk activist has come together to create the “Raw Milk Freedom Riders.”  On November 1, a caravan of mothers will drive to Pennsylvania, legally acquire raw milk, and return to Maryland with the milk, ending up at the FDA headquarters in Silver Spring. UPDATE ON CORTNEY CAMPBELL

About a year ago, I posted a story about Cortney Campbell who had cured her lymphoma with holistic remedies. Since that time, she has been telling her story to cancer patients and encouraging them that cancer does not have to be a death sentence. LEARN MORE...

FLU SHOT PROPAGANDA

Did you know that grocery stores are giving food discounts to those who agree to receive flu shot vaccinations? It’s yet another way to prey upon the poor with sterilizing vaccines that are ultimately all about eugenics. LEARN MORE...

CANCER SUCCESS STORY- BILL TRUCKS

In the words of my friend, Bill Trucks: “I was rapidly dying from stage 4 Liver Cancer Metastasized into my Pancreas and Left Kidney.  My body was shutting down and I was sick and weak.  Faced with a certain death, my wife and I were researching to find something… anything to get this mess out of me!" GREEN TEA GOODNESS

In China there is a proverb that says: “Better to be deprived of food for three days than tea for one.” Botanical evidence indicates that India and China were among the first countries to cultivate tea. Today, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world, second only to water.  Hundreds of millions of people drink tea around the world, and studies suggest that green tea (camellia sinensis) in particular has many health benefits. Truth be told, the benefits of green tea are so remarkable that it is believed that the key to a longer and healthier life may just be brewing in your cup! LEARN MORE...

"ALL NATURAL" CEREAL?

Do you feed your children “all natural cereal”? Are you aware that no legal requirements or restrictions exist for foods labeled “natural.” The term, in many instances, constitutes meaningless marketing hype promoted by corporate interests seeking to cash in on the consumer’s desire for food produced in a genuinely healthy and sustainable manner. DESTRUCTION BY DESIGN

QUESTION: With 75% of the American public screaming for Hussein Obama and Congress to secure our borders and stop illegal migration, why do you think they aren’t listening? Why are our borders still WIDE OPEN?

We are changing insurance plans to BlueChoice HMO and have to name a new primary care physician from within the network for my husband and I within the next couple of weeks.  Would love to have some suggestions of Docs in the Annapolis area who any of you might recommend!  Of course we would prefer someone who is inclined to be open to alternative ideas.

Also, I've had some questions re the class...this class is based on the Nourishing Your Children presentation that the WAPF chapter gives about every other year.

I will also be selling Nourishing Traditions cookbooks.

Hello!

You're all invited to join the Linthicum WAPF Chapter for monthly potlucks held
the second Saturday of most months. Our first one is going to be on February 4
starting at noon (yes, the first Saturday this time due to other events). The
kitchen demo will be about how to fix scrapple. We'll share a potluck meal
(please bring a WAPF-style dish!) then have a discussion about treating and
preventing Lyme disease.

To RSVP, please use the database in our chapter's Yahoogroup at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LinthicumWAPF/database
Feel free to bring a friend or your children! You do NOT need to be a paid
member of the national organization to join the Linthicum WAPF email group or
attend our potlucks. Anyone interested in real food is welcome!

All of our potlucks will follow this same basic format: kitchen demo, meal,
skill session. We have a rough outline for the rest of the year posted in our
group files, but we are totally open to suggestions. I have the "Nourishing Our
Children" materials if anyone wants to see those clips and discuss that. We also
hope to give some gardening tips and a tour of our greenhouse and mini-orchard
when the weather is warmer in March. And the kitchen demo in March will be
coconut chicken (gluten-free).

A little background about me:
I started the WAPF Westminster, MD Chapter in 2005. I've attended the national
conferences in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010 (all east coast ones). In 2006,
I was honored to receive the Activist Award for designing a children's activity
book for the WAPF. I got married in June 2011 and moved to Linthicum,
transferring my Westminster Chapter to new leaders. With the blessing of leader
Suzy in Millersville and the national WAPF, I started a new chapter in
Linthicum, MD. Unfortunately, I have been delayed in starting these monthly
potlucks because I contracted Lyme disease on my honeymoon! So it's a great
topic for our first meeting and something I'm now very familiar with.

I hope you can join us to learn something and connect with new friends!

Thanks,
Amy DeVries

Please can we refrain from using the term raw regarding this valuable product.
I'm sure the government has some type of google alert system and or is watching
the Internet closely especially wapf groups. We should all be very careful just
announcing the name of the farm and info for it. This new source uses the term
naturally pastured dairy. I'm sorry but I think we need to be very careful so
to protect our sources so what happened to Dan doesn't happen again.

Annapolis City Folks:
Urgent need TODAY for contacting Annapolis City Council and Mayor in support of

meeting TODAY. City changes may help with County ordinance changes.
Carol

For those who aren't yet aware, there is a facebook page promoting the chickens
in Annapolis bill -
http://www.facebook.com/pages/YES-to-Residential-Chickens-in-the-City-of-Annapol\
is/281680141897644 .
In addition, we've put together an email that you can send to your pro-chicken
friends and neighbors, asking them to contact their Alderperson. It seems as
though the Alderpeople are leaning against the bill – hopefully we can change
their minds!!
I've copied the letter, plus the intro, below, in case you want to use it.
Hope to see you at City Hall tomorrow!!
Jess

To make this as easy as possible for everyone to do by drafting a letter (see
below) that you can simply copy, paste into an email, and sign (and send to your
friends to do so as well). If you are unsure in which Ward you reside, please
consult the City of Annapolis Ward Map here:
http://www.annapolis.gov/Government/Council/Docs/wardmap.pdf. You can find your
Alderman's email address here:
http://www.annapolis.gov/government/Council/ElectOfficials/ContactElectOfficials\
.aspx. Please send this email to your Alderman (or woman) and copy to the Mayor.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Jess and Mike
---------------------------------------------------------

Dear ____________:

I am writing today to express my support for the revision of draft City
Ordinance 8.04.010 (Maintaining Animals) to allow chickens to be kept on
residential properties within the City of Annapolis.
Chickens are legal in Baltimore, New York City, Seattle, San Diego, Austin,
Raleigh, San Francisco, Vancouver, Rome, and many other cities around the US and
world. I strongly believe that residents of the City of Annapolis should have
the choice to keep chickens, whether as pets or for eggs, just as they do dogs,
cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, snakes and other animals.
People who don't want to have chickens won't be forced to get them, nor will
they be forced to be neighbors with them. But for those who do want them, have
the required yard space, have agreeable neighbors, and understand the cost and
time required to care for them, this ordinance would provide them a choice. I
personally don't want to keep a snake, guinea pig or ferret in my house, but do
not feel that it is my place, or the city's, to tell other residents that they
should not be allowed to keep them.
While the original bill did not address many of the concerns that people have
regarding noise, cleanliness, etc., the new, revised bill contains sufficient
safeguards including a provision that would require residents to obtain the
approval of their neighbors in order to keep chickens. Concerns from opponents
of the ordinance regarding the health and safety of keeping chickens are
overstated and have been proven to be non-issues for small flocks such as those
discussed by this bill, especially considering the precautions required by this
ordinance. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC): "There is no need
at present to remove a (family) flock of chickens because of concerns regarding
avian flu." Additionally, conventionally processed eggs are much more likely to
contain communicable pathogens, such as salmonella, than home-grown eggs.
The fact is, much of the opposition regarding this ordinance is based on
ignorance and false information (for example, roosters – which produce the most
noise – would not be allowed). Home chicken flocks are beneficial to our
neighborhood – they help reduce the amount of trash going to the landfill (food
scraps are fed to the chicken); they reduce the amount of pesticides needed
(chickens consume large amounts of the bothersome insects in our yards such as
mosquitoes, ticks and fleas); they reduce the amount of herbicide and fertilizer
runoff (they clear unwanted vegetation and produce natural compost); they create
a home-grown, low-carbon footprint protein source; and they educate our children
about where food really comes from.
Dr. David Waltner-Toews, veterinarian, epidemiologist, and professor at the
University of Guelph, has written that he knows of "no evidence linking human
illness with keeping small urban flocks." Further, he believes that "if we do
not make room for these urban entrepreneurs, we risk losing a set of very
important food-rearing skills that will enable us to better navigate the
economic, climatic and environmental instability our society will face in the
coming decades."
It is my hope that, as my representative on the City Council, you will cast your
vote in favor of this Ordinance on the basis of factual information that has
proven that keeping residential chickens in an urban setting is a viable option
so that people such as myself will be able to join millions of other city
dwellers around our country in choosing for ourselves whether chickens are right
for us.
Should you need any further information in order to respond to constituent
concerns, please visit the following sites. They explain clearly why chicken
keeping is not only safe, but beneficial for our community.

Dear WAPF members,

I wanted to share that our WAPF Chapter Leader, Jessica Earle, recently discovered that she has brain cancer.  She suffered cluster headaches for two weeks before going to the ER where they discovered a large tumor in her right frontal lobe.  She was transferred to Johns Hopkins where they removed the tumor only to find that it was cancerous and Stage IV (glioblastoma multiforme).  Jessica is 37 and has only been married for 4 months.

Jessica consulted Dr. Cowan who suggested she see Dr. Burzynski in Houston  http://www.burzynskiclinic.com/.  Dr. Burzynski apparantly has had success treating people with this type of cancer.  Unfortunately, the clinic is very expensive.  She has health insurance, but it does not cover the treatments she will need which could be as much as $200,000 or more.

We have created a blog to help her tell her story and to also raise money for this very expensive treatment in hope that we can save her life. I hope that you will take a moment to check out the short video by following this link. http://healingjessica.blogspot.com/

Jessica has been connected to WAPF for over a decade.  I remember when the two of us flew to Chicago for one of the annual conferences and in the airport as we were running late for our plane, she dropped a full glass bottle of beet kvass.  It caused such a scene!

Please add your email to the blog or like us on Facebook to get video updates on Jessica's journey.

Thank you,
Cara Bergman

Thanks for sharing this, Cara - I had seen this link somewhere, but had no idea it was Jessica Earle.

Hello friends,

I'm planning to do an order from U.S. Wellness Meats
(http://www.grasslandbeef.com/) and I wondered if anyone wanted me to order
something for you. I know it's hard to meet the minimum requirements alone so if
we combine orders that would be easier!

I LOVE their braunschweiger and liverwurst. It's a tasty way to get organ meats
into your diet. The pemmican is also a good food for traveling. Unfortunately,
all flavors of pemmican are out of stock right now. I hope it comes back soon. I
can also personally recommend the beef sticks, which are also out of stock. I'll
try to wait and watch for those to come back, but I'm going to need to order
sometime next month. Gotta have lots of organ meats for the baby on the way!

So if you're interested in joining my order, email me privately
(hysenthlaydew@...) or call me (410-789-1593) and we can make arrangements
for you to get a check or cash to me and let me know exactly what you want. I'll
have the cooler shipped to my house then let you know when it arrives so you can
arrange to come over and pick up your food.

Thanks,
Amy DeVries
