Why?
Why am I invited?
Besides providing you an afternoon to enjoy a prosperous, well managed
Amish Farm in the Pennsylvania countryside and the gracious
hospitality of our farmer friends, we hope that you'll…
· Learn a little bit more about why the Farm to Consumer Legal
Defense Fund is important to both farmers and consumers alike.
· Join in - like an old fashioned barn-raising or quilting bee
- to help launch the fund. Many hands make light work.
Join? Volunteer? Spread the word? Wish us well?
· Tell us how we can help you!
What?
What is the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund?
The FTCLDF was initiated by the Weston A. Price Foundation Board of
Directors and is now a separate 501(c) (4) non-profit organization,
modeled after the highly successful Home School Legal Defense Fund. It
is an inexpensive and effective means for both farmers and consumers
to protect their constitutional rights to provide and purchase fresh
farm goods without the burden of over regulation and interference.
As farmers and consumers across America pool their resources, the
funds will be used to protect the rights of farmers and consumers at
local, state and federal levels through the 3 R's - litigation,
legislation and lobbying!
What is on the menu? Fresh farm food….of course!!!!
Jake Zook will be up at midnight to prepare the pork and beef for an
incredible barbeque.
Dan Allgyer and CARE farmers will be milking at the crack of dawn for
cream which will be used to make homemade ice cream.
What can I bring?
It's a pot-luck, so your contributions of beverages and side dishes
will round out the menu.
What is there to do on the farm?
There will be plenty to do on the farm for both adults and children….
· Meet and greet your friends in the pavilion to celebrate the
launch.
· Feast on fresh farm food and pot luck goods.
· Hop aboard a mule-drawn wagon for a farm tour.
· Try your hand at milking a cow.
· Stroll around the farm on your own.
· Meet a happy cow.
· Load up your cooler with fresh farm goods sold at the farm
store. (bring your coolers and ice!)
What's the cost?
$5 per adult at the door will help defray the farmer's cost, and give
the FTCLDF a boost!
Children under the age of 10 free.
Remember to bring your pot luck item and beverages!
What happens if it's too hot or rains?
We'll be gathering in Jake's pavilion, a covered building providing
shelter from sun and rain.
