I'm also not vegetarian, and have been pro-WAP since the early 00's, but
often eat at vegetarian restuarants because 1) the food is well prepared
and enjoyable 2) vegetarians and WAP share many of the same goals and
philosophies about being concious of what you eat and where it came from
ie. organic, sustainable, local, ethical etc.. besides, recent studies
show the sheer scale of domestic animals on the planet is a major
contributor to greenhouse gasses. This is a new phenomenon brought on by
industrial scale farming and a global population boom. It doesn't mean
going meatless but I try to eat "vegetarian" one day a week (ie. replace
the meat portion with cheese).

He probably doesn't know or care anything about WAPF. Since he's crossposting to 5 other groups he doesn't seem to care about netiquette either. Mods, can you moderate or delete his account?

This is intolerable!!! Why doesn't he stick to his VEGAN websites.

That's very nice, but not particularly relevant to this group. Have you read the WAPF website or Nourishing Traditions? They endorse naturally raised and traditionally prepared animal products as an integral part of a healthy diet, and I assume most of the subscribers here would agree with that endorsement...

Why would anyone on a WAP list use vegetable oil for grilling, unless
it was coconut oil?

programs to bring fresh vegetables and fruits to school districts, like the one in this news story, could also work in the school districts where you live.
Had similar thoughts, Jim. A vegetarian agenda seems antithetical to WAPF's overall message. Good point about vegetarian awareness day used to focus on local, sustainable farming.
I, too, was vegan for 7 years for health reasons when what I really needed was to get off milk protein and gluten. Took years after giving up gluten to understand milk protein was the animal product with which my body had the most trouble. No gluten made veganism much harder, yet, I persisted, full of belief, for my "health." Turns out, not that healthy for me.
WAPF's Sally Fallon spoke to our Northern VA CFS support group, convinced me to try a hamburger again. I hear the vegan, vegetarian arguments, often sound/seem reasonable, but everything in life has an up side and a down side. Mary Tyler Moore is doing ok after 5 decades of veganism. Impressive, just not for me.
Grateful to Sally Fallon for opening my thinking about food and cooking, for restoring trust for what kept our ancestors thriving, pre-hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.

* Why many traditional foods such as butter, whole milk, egg yolk are
considered unhealthy when in fact, they are vital to the growth and
intellectual development of our children * Some foods such as soda,
candy, and Oreos are obviously unhealthy, but there are some other
foods that may surprise you to learn that they can be harmful – such as
soy infant formula, boxed cereal, and "organic" crackers and cookies * Practical steps to follow when feeding your family nutritious and delicious food
Dear Friends in Anne Arundel County,
This is an email reminding you to sign my petition called "Nourishing
Our Children Campaign". I will be meeting soon with our County Council
Representative, Josh Cohen and need as many signatures as I can get..
Please take a moment to read about this important issue, and join me
in signing the petition. It takes just 30 seconds, but can truly make
a difference. We are trying to reach 1000 signatures - please sign here:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/nourishing-our-children-campaign
Once you have signed, you can help even more by asking your friends
and family to sign as well. They do not need to be a parent only an
Anne Arundel county citizen, as their tax dollars are helping to feed
the children in this community.
Thank you so much!

Nourishing Our Children Presentation -Saturday, February 9, 2:30PM
You are invited to a dynamic presentation that explains why many
traditional foods now considered unhealthy are, in fact, vital to the
growth and intellectual development of our children. The presentation
is given free of charge. Please bring a friend, this meeting will be
open to the public as well. The presentation will be held at the West
street library on Saturday, Feb. 9th from 2:30 to 4:30.
Nourishing Our Children is not just about identifying the dangers of
Oreos, cola, candy and other obvious junk foods. The campaign also
presents research illustrating how foods widely assumed to be
nutritional - including packaged foods commonly described as
"organic","natural" or "fortified" - are themselves heavily processed
and stripped of nutritional value. Although these labels provide a
convenient way for parents to determine which foods to buy, the items
associated with those labels often betray the standard of optimal
nutrition.
