Hello all,

In the past, I’ve circulated info about a food co-op I belong to called the St. Agnes Co-op.  Every four weeks, we place our orders with a food wholesaler (called FORC) through a group coordinator—--everything is done via email.  A refrigerated truck delivers our orders monthly to the home of one of our members in the Rolling Knolls neighborhood off General’s Highway in Annapolis.

In the past, I have ordered lots of groceries (frozen fruits and veg, rice milk, non-wheat flours, nuts, peanut butter, olive oil etc.) but not produce from FORC. (In the summer, I get my produce from the Mountains to Bay CSA in Maryland.  They’ll be presenting info about the Mountains to Bay CSA on March 12 in Annapolis.)  Anyway, this month I think I’ll give FORC produce a try. If any of you might be interested in buying organic produce at co-op prices, here’s the list of prices for comparison.  The cost to you for ordering through the St. Agnes co-op is 5% co-op fee on the total of your order, up to $5.00 maximum fee.  

I can’t tell you the produce quality until I try it. But I notice you can order small amounts (like a pound of most things).  

I’ve provided an info sheet and food catalogs in the past to those of you interested.  If anyone doesn’t have the catalog or the instruction sheet, DON’T REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. Instead, send a separate email to me Kate@... with your postal mailing address and a phone number, and in the next few days I’ll email you the instruction sheet and tell you where to pickup a current food ordering catalog—or else I’ll mail you a catalog until I run out of them. FORC publishes a new catalog each month with updated prices, so the catalogs have a short lifespan.  Note also that they run specials each month which are noted in the front section of the catalog.
