Anyone in the co-op that delivers to Columbia would need to join CARE
CARE: Communities Alliance for Responsible Eco-Farming
By becoming a member of CARE you are reserving the right to buy
wholesome unprocessed foods that are not irradiated, pasteurized,
ultra-pasturized, or homogenized which is the current trend.
By becoming a member of CARE you are supporting your local farmers
that practice methods that will bring back more birds and wildlife and
other animals that will enhance the eco-system by depending less and
less on harmful chemicals and pesticides and food additives.
The membership is $10.00 per year to become a community member. You
receive a quarterly newsletter. The farmers pay $75 per year and
agree to the monthly CARE quality testing standards, etc. And must
request that all consumers buying dairy products become a member.
The man who delivers for us is from DC and was hired by one of the
CARE members NOT by the farmer.
This is how we are able to take advantage of this wonderful service!
Thanks,
Melissa Cohen
