Vets with TBI is a group for Military Veterans who have received a Traumatic Brain Injury during Military Service or After-wards.
It is also for those folks who may be
-friends,
-family members, or
-helpers in some way of/to these people."
We TBI Survivors are aware of the special thinking processes we MUST learn to DO OUR JOBS EFFECTIVELY, and SUDDENLY by virtue of TBI, can no longer do them.
TBI can affect us in WIDELY varying ways-but we ALL can offer that "special" perspective, born of our service to our country, only gained by ACTUAL EXPERIENCE. Do civilians "really KNOW" what rockets look like?
How do we return to civilian life? What "work-arounds" can we find that will make our lives more worthwhile? What resources are avialable? What does "worthwhile" really "mean" now?
Here is a place where we can discuss and share these things with each other in a safe environment.
It can get better.
Like me, as a Survivor, "You woke up into a world filled with molasses," but even then? You can find some happieness over time. Your world may indeed have changed in a multitude of ways, in some-beyond recognition to both yourself as well as family and friends. Your whole being may indeed have changed as how you do even the simplest things, and look at those that can no longer be accomplished.
Take heart-there is a new life, and though our challenges, ours, family and friends are at times huge, often work-arounds can be found to make life if not what we "wanted," at least a bit happier over time...
Join us!
PLEASE NOTE: Membership in another "brain injury group" does not automatically make you a member here, you MUST APPLY and be APPROVED first. You will be limited to 200 characters max in your application. If you need more than that, please put that in, and list management will contact you. -Thanks!
