Director of Children’s Services (
The Director of Children’s Services administers activities of
Duties Include:
1. Providing supportive counseling and case management to children while also facilitating parenting sessions for caregivers.
2. Completing safety plans with children, processing impact of family abuse with children and securing appropriate community resources for children and parents.
3. Supervising clinical and volunteer staff providing services for children.
4. Monitoring services provided within the Children’s Program and providing leadership in strategic planning for both long- and short-term growth of the program.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
2. Supervisory experience.
3. Experience with project management, program development and accessing services for clients.
4. Experience providing psycho-educational counseling and advocacy.
5. An understanding of the issues of family violence and sensitivity to the plight of battered families.
6. Ability to work with people of various ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Community Educator and Volunteer Manager (
The Community Educator and Volunteer Manager directs all domestic violence education and prevention program activities and administers of the volunteer program for Safe Harbor . This position was recently upgraded and will provide significant opportunities for program enhancement and professional development.
Duties include:
1. Development and coordination of a community education program including: target and solicit audiences for group presentations; network with community professionals, organizations and businesses for outreach opportunities; deliver tailored educational presentations on the issue of domestic violence.
2. Responsible for the recruitment, screening, training, supervision and retention of volunteers for Safe Harbor ’s volunteer program.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in related field and/ or 3 years related experience.
2. An understanding of the issues of family violence and sensitivity to the plight of battered families.
3. Previous volunteer and/or human services experience.
4. An ability to work with people of various ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds.
5. An ability to deliver content in a culturally sensitive manner.
6. Volunteer and/or staff supervisory experience.
7. Strong organizational skills.
