The White Ribbon Campaign
*************************
Domestic violence and sexual assault are often viewed as women's
issues and
many men who would consider themselves well meaning do not see the
role they
can playing in ending men's violence against women.
This training addresses the questions: Why is violence against women a
men's
issue? What role do men have in preventing men's violence against
women? And
how can we get more men involved?
The White Ribbon Campaign is part of a multinational effort to get men
involved in working to end men's violence against women, to raise
awareness
of the problem, and to support organizations that deal with the
consequences
of men's violence against women. http://www.whiteribbon.ca
The training will also provide information and resources on how to
implement
a White Ribbon Campaign in your community. Ongoing assistance from the
Virginia Department of Health will also be provided for organizations
as
they begin working on their campaign.
Attendees will receive a campaign kit that includes:
.Organizer's Booklet
.White Ribbon Pledge Cards
.200 White Ribbons
."A Call to Men" Video www.acalltomen.com (*to the first 30 programs to
