Building A Coordinated Health Care Response to Intimate Partner
Violence Training
The Institute for Women's Health is offering training on September
19, 2008 to increase knowledge and skills in identifying, treating
and referring victims experiencing domestic and sexual violence. The
training will frame violence as a public health issue. We will make
connections between the health & mental health consequences of
violence, while encouraging the integration of healthcare and
domestic violence community responses. Utilizing the Virginia
Department of Health Project RADAR model resources and tools, this
interactive training will focus on improving the collaboration and
partnerships between area health professionals and domestic violence
shelter program staff and volunteers.
Who should attend? Domestic violence/sexual assault professionals,
ANY health care provider, clinic staff, homeless shelter program
staff, and students.
Date: Friday September 19, 2008
