This email is to let you know of an upcoming training on responding to
sexual violence on college campuses for sexual assault advocates, law
enforcement and other campus personnel on May 20-21 in Richmond. The
training will be provided by Joanne Archambault, a nationally recognized and
very engaging speaker. If you work with sexual assault victims, judicial
affairs, law enforcement, counseling, student health or prevention, this is
a terrific opportunity to receive more training on this subject from a
wonderful speaker.

The second day will have a specific tract for law enforcement officers.
Others will receive training on the laws and stalking. In the afternoon you
are invited to come learn more about the Virginia Coalition Against Sexual
Assault and to help plan the future work of the Coalition to help campuses
address the prevention and intervention of sexual assault. The cost is only
$35 for both days, as it is subsidized by a grant from the Department of
Justice. In addition scholarships are available. The agenda and
registration form are attached. I hope to see you there. Please call or
email either Gay Cutchin at VCU (dcutchin@... or call 804-827-2417) or
me with any questions. Below is the bio for Joanne Archambault.

Joanne Archambault has been with the San Diego Police Department for 21
years. She has been assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit for the last 9 years.
The unit has 13 detectives and is responsible for investigating
approximately 1,000 felony sexual assaults each year. Ms.Archambault
co-authored the San Diego County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)
Resource Pamphlet and she produced a video on SART. Most recently, Sgt.
Archambault worked closely with the National Center for Women and Policing
to develop the first National Sexual Assault training manual and curriculum
for law enforcement. She has lectured extensively throughout the United
States on the role of law enforcement in the investigation of sex crimes.
