Virginia Department of Social Services announces a new Request for Proposal
(RFP) in the amount of $1,000,000 divided equally between the Accredited,
Associate and Developing Child Advocacy Centers. The RFP is posted on the
eVA web site and may be accessed through eVA's web link at
www.eva.state.va.us . The RFP is also posted on the Virginia Department of
Social Services web site. You may access the RFP through
www.dss.virginia.govgov, then click on Forms and Applications followed by
Grant Opportunities.
The pre-proposal conference will be held on April 14, 2008 in the Virginia
Department of Social Services Vault Level Conference Room B from 10:00 am
until 1:00 pm. Directions are contained in the RFP.
The application deadline is Monday, May 19, 2008 at 4:00 pm.
The purpose and intent of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is to award
competitive grants to public and private, non-profit incorporated agencies
and organizations, representing community coalitions in Virginia for
expansion of services provided through children's advocacy centers. This RFP
offers communities an opportunity to develop, enhance, expand and maintain
children's advocacy centers. This RFP requires multiple agency
participation.
The source for these grants is $1,000,000 in general funds appropriated by
the 2008 Virginia General Assembly for the development and enhancement of
children's advocacy centers. Funds are intended to expand statewide services
to advocacy centers through all levels of development and certification.
Grants will be awarded for a contract period beginning July 1, 2008 and
ending June 30, 2009. Funding will be distributed as follows: 1) one-third
of the funds ($333,000) will be designated for fully accredited members, 2)
another one-third ($333,000) is for associate centers and 3) the final
one-third ($333,000) is targeted for other centers that are currently
operating, developing, or exploring development based on standards set by
the National Children's Alliance with input from the Children's Advocacy
Center of Virginia. There is no match requirement. Funding not awarded in
one category cannot be moved to another category.
