Greetings,
Below you will find a listing of the upcoming Spring MettaKnowledge for
Peace workshop offerings. We are living in times when it is imperative
that as we do our work, we understand the overt and subtle impact of
violence on our own lives and on the lives of the populations we serve
in order to remain effective and not suffer from burnout. This may be
learning about recent research on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and
Compassion Fatigue (also known as Secondary Traumatic Stress) or
learning how to handle with compassion interracial and interethnic
tensions in our workplaces, or learning how to acknowledge, understand,
and talk about the spiritual dimensions that violence invariably touches
in all of us in ways that are respectful of our differences while
helping us find meaning.
All workshops and individual professional mentoring offered by
MettaKnowledge for Peace aim to build on what we already know about
these topics with new knowledge and tools so that we can be more
effective in every area of our lives.
I hope you will attend one of our offerings this Spring, or if you
cannot, that you will forward this to anyone nationwide whom you think
would be interested.
