I am co-chairing a search for our Judicial Coordinator position here
at Virginia Tech. This is a position funded through our VAWA grant
with primary responsibilities of coordinating abusive misconduct cases
and working with the Women's Center (me) on education and outreach
related to violence against women issues. We have a strong commitment
to diversity and really want to encourage everyone who is interested
to apply. We have extended our priority review deadline to March 17th.

The Office of Judicial Affairs at Virginia Tech is in the Student
Programs area of the Division of Student Affairs and reports directly
to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. The university
judicial system affects and applies to all currently enrolled students
and to all registered student organizations. Its major purpose is to
help create a fair, just, and disciplined university community. The
system supports the educational mission of the university by educating
students about appropriate behavior and by fostering a community in
which academic success can occur. The Office of Judicial Affairs is
currently recruiting for an Administrative/ Professional faculty position.

Office of Judicial Affairs: Judicial Coordinator, is a refunded grant
position that is funded by a three-year grant from the U.S. Dept. of
Justice (a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant). The purpose of
the grant is to increase the number of reports and adjudications of
gender based violence. The purpose is also to increase awareness and
provide services to survivors, their families, partners and friends,
and to provide education about the problem of gender based violence.
Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March
17, 2008. Virginia Tech has a strong commitment to diversity and seeks
a broad spectrum of candidates from all groups including but not
limited to women, people of color, and those with disabilities.
