Sexual Violence Training for Trainers 

This 3-day (April 2-4, 2008) INTENSIVE training is designed to build the skills of those who deliver training on the issues of sexual violence as part of their jobs.  This training will prepare you to teach on the basic elements required for an effective community response to sexual violence.

Participants will:

    * Explore the key elements of sexual violence training

    * Identify and design for adult learning styles

    * Design around different audience interests

    * Learn how to balance workshop elements

    * Learn how to assess the audience

    * Learn how to use audio visuals effectively

Please note: this training addresses not only how to train, but also many of the issues associated with sexual violence. This is an intensive experience: 30 hours of training over three days. It is our intention that participants feel safe and supported while striving to become more effective trainers about the many difficult issues concerning sexual violence.

This training is limited to 30 participants. All participants must commit to attend the training in its entirety. This training involves an application process. Intended Audience: Anyone who would like to become an effective trainer on the issues of sexual violence.  Past training participants have included law enforcement, social service, college and university personnel, mental health, health care professionals as well as advocates working in Sexual and Domestic Violence Programs.
