Social Work Supervisor - Second Responder Unit, City of Richmond
The City of Richmond, Department of Social Services is seeking a
highly qualified candidate for the position of Social Work Supervisor
to manage ten Social Work Specialists in the Second Responder Unit.
Successful candidate will render social services to families and
children, with a focus on counseling and assessment of victims of
domestic violence, child abuse and neglect
investigations/interventions, crisis intervention and prevention.
Second Responder staff is located in four Police Precincts. Work hours
are from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and selected
candidates will provide occasional coverage on weekends and holidays.
Duties include but are not limited to: Supervision and development of
ten Social Work Specialists assigned to the Second Responder unit;
monitors and evaluates activities and client requests for services;
prepares reports and maintains statistical data; ensures compliance
with State Department of Social Services regulations; responds to
hotline and court requests; approves emergency removal of children and
emergency fund expenditures; provides training to new hires;
formulates shift schedules; maintains leave and payroll information;
and performs other administrative duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology;
Liberal Arts or Human Services related-field and at least three years
experience; valid Virginia driver's license. Selected candidate must
present valid Virginia driver's license record and official college
transcript or proof of graduation indicating attainment of Bachelors'
degree. Candidate must have the ability to work this regular night
shift and some weekends, as necessary. CPS or APS certification
required. Supervisory experience and MSW preferred. Ability to work
with Police and other emergency personnel in times of crisis is
essential. Social Services Department staff may be called upon to work
in times of declared emergencies. Second Responders are considered
essential personnel. Salary Range: $42,072 - $69,106. Submit a City of
