Reply | Forward Message #609 of 873 |
Attached and in plain text below are announcements about 2 upcoming Virginia
Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance trainings that many of you will
find interesting and useful.

The first attachment is a training about the "Getting To Outcomes" or "GTO"
planning and evaluation framework for intimate partner violence and sexual
violence prevention programs. It's on March 30 in Hampton.

The second attachment is a training about applying the SEARCH Institute's
Developmental Assets Framework to intimate partner violence and sexual violence
prevention work. This training is all day on April 25 and in the morning on
April 26 - register soon to make sure you can get the discounted room rate
though! (Developmental Assets are 40 qualities identified by a synthesis of
relevant research findings that are associated with youth becoming healthy,
caring, and responsible individuals - these assets can be individual qualities,
or aspects of an individual's environment, and they can help predict both
negative and positive outcomes for youth.)

Let me know if you have any questions!

Getting To Outcomes
9:30am-4:30pm
March 30th, 2007
Hampton

Training Description
How do we measure the success of our prevention programs? If we reach out to
high school students with the intention of preventing dating violence—and we
don’t plan to accompany them on all of their dates! —how will we know if we
have succeeded? Getting to Outcomes is a model for prevention program
development, implementation and evaluation that helps us to plan for meaningful
outcome measurement—no double dating required! Participants will get an
overview of this ten-step model as well as practical tools to use as a part of
assessing needs and resources, developing measurable prevention goals and
objectives, and engaging in a process of continuous quality improvement. For
more detailed information about this training, see our website at
www.vsdvalliance.org.

Who should attend
Sexual and Domestic Violence Agency staff engaged in needs assessment, planning
and outcome measurement activities; allied agency staff seeking a framework for
developing prevention programs and services. This training is recommended for
PRE and DELTA grant recipient agency staff and partners.
