The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) National Awards are

projects that prevent, reduce or address sexual violence on a large scale.
These awards highlight promising practices and illustrate a wide range of
strategies that, together, make our world a safer place.

AWARD CATEGORIES & DESCRIPTIONS

Public Policy:
This award recognizes a policymaker, advocate or organizer who has
contributed to improving public policy or legislation to improve services to
sexual assault victims, accountability for offenders, or prevention efforts
in communities.

Media & Communications:
This award recognizes a journalist, photojournalist, media outlet or other
communications entity who has contributed to the responsible reporting of
sexual violence and/or commitment to prevention. This award encourages
raising public awareness about sexual violence; publicizing available
prevention resources; and offering a voice to victims of sexual assault
through audio, visual and/or written methods. It also encourages the
development or broadcasting of comprehensive, timely, and effective programs
to promote sexual violence prevention.

Organization:
This award recognizes a corporation or organization that has significantly
promoted anti-sexual violence work, including the institution of
organizational policies that encourage training, innovative practices, and
anti-sexual harassment practices; and/or has made a positive contribution to
communities' efforts to prevent sexual violence.

Intervention:
This award recognizes an individual or group whose work has national impact
and who has enhanced services to victims and/or provided excellent advocacy
on behalf of victims of sexual violence.

Prevention:
This award recognizes an individual or group whose work has advanced our
understanding of the prevention of sexual violence, promoted the prevention
of sexual violence, or promoted social change on a large scale. Individuals
or groups may have focused on communities-at-large or identified specific
groups such as women, men, youth, college students, or the family.
