Reply | Forward Message #597 of 873 |
This is a reminder to plan to join one of the web conferences offered below
on Virginia sexual violence statistics. The handouts are available on the
web at www.vahealth.org/civp/sexualviolence .

If you will not have access to a computer or expect technical difficulties
(such as dial-up connections), but still would like to be a part of the
conference, print out the handouts from the web site and call in.

If you can't make the web conference, be sure to visit the website after the
conferences to view the handouts.

Subject: [VDHsvlist] SV Data in Virginia Web Conference Jan 19 or Jan 23

Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence
Action Alliance invite you to attend a web conference on sexual violence
data in Virginia.  A web conference is an opportunity to attend a workshop
by calling in using a special phone number provided prior to the web
conference and watching a presentation from your computer screen using only
your regular internet connection.  If for some reason you are unable to join
via your computer, you can print out slides of presentations from the VDH
website and listen along on the phone.

What: Sexual Violence Data in Virginia Web Conference
When: January 19 10 AM – 12 PM
                        Or
            January 23 2 PM – 4 PM
For whom: Anyone interested in learning more about the sexual violence data
available in Virginia
Presenters: Rebecca K. Odor, Virginia Department of Health and Sherrie
Goggans, Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance
Objectives:
1) Participants will become familiar with 3 different sources of sexual
violence data in Virginia
2) Participants will know how each data source is collected
3) Participants will learn how to correctly use the data for reports, grants
and presentations

Technical Details:
To ensure your experience with this technology is successful, please follow
the instructions below to prepare your computer.  Also, please plan to join
15 minutes before the start time.

Before the web conference

1. Direct your web browser to http://ilincdemo.ilinc.com and click Sys Check
in the bottom left.
2. On this page it will test a few aspects of your system that are important
to your participation in the session. If any of these tests fail, it will
provide you with basic information on how to correct it.
3. Next click on the ‘Start Part II’ button to download the software and
join the session.
4. At this point you should see the software downloading. Click ‘Ok’ if you
are prompted on whether or not to allow the software to be installed. Once
this completes you should be joined into the session with the iLinc tool
panel on the left-hand side of the screen.
a. If you do not automatically see the software install, then you may have
an ActiveX warning below the address bar in your browser. If so, click on it
and select ‘Install’. This will install the iLinc software and initiate the
joining process.
b. If ‘a.’ does not apply to you then, click on the ‘Click Here’ link to
bring up a file download dialogue box. Select run, and then you should see
the iLinc software download and join you into the session.
5. Once you are joined into the session, you have successfully prepared your
computer. Your computer is now ready for the session you will be joining.
Note: Preparing your computer before participating in an iLinc session for
the first time is an important process to complete. Doing this ahead of time
will eliminate any last minute confusion before you need to be in your
session and get you more familiar with what you will be seeing. Should any
problems arise, this will also give you sufficient time to contact support
to resolve the issue instead of finding out too late and missing your
session. If you do encounter any problems preparing your computer, please
call 800-799-4510 for iLinc Technical Support.

On the day of the web conference

Cut and paste the following link in your browser
http://webondemand.ilinc.com/cgi-bin/ilinc/wod/login.pl?part_pin=9841404  By
accessing the above website, you will enter your name and email address.
Hopefully, you will have already prepared your computer using the
instructions above.  If not, you will then be asked to download a small
software program from iLinc that will allow you to be a part of the web
conference.  You will then see a screen that lists who else is online and
the first slide of the presentation.

Dial the call in number 1-888-447-7153 and enter the passcode (PIN): 9841404

For Technical Assistance call 800-799-4510.
