The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is soliciting
applications to pilot test a National Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)
Toolkit, currently under development. The Toolkit is a project of NSVRC
with grant funding from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice
Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The PDF version at the following
link provides complete background information for the application process.
http://www.nsvrc.org/resources/strategies/sart_pilot.html

Program Design and Strategy
The Toolkit is designed to help communities organize and coordinate first
responses to sexual violence; facilitate community development to expand and
sustain a team approach to reach underserved and marginalized populations;
and provide tools to monitor and evaluate SART multidisciplinary
guidelines/protocols. To ensure maximum effectiveness of this product for
communities across the country, the NSVRC will select 5-test sites to field
test the toolkit produced on a CD-ROM. The pilot testing will take
approximately eight months to complete.

Selection Criteria
The strongest applicants will be communities that show a commitment to
sexual assault victims and to multidisciplinary collaboration. Test sites
applicants must demonstrate they have:
* A designated individual to facilitate interagency collaboration and
the testing of the toolkit;
* History of prior coordination and positive relationships between
advocacy, law enforcement, healthcare and prosecution agencies;
* Capacity to undertake and complete pilot testing;
* Ability to commit to time frame for pilot test;
* Ability to clearly identify goals and outcomes.
* Computer access with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape
6.0 or higher (browser must have JavaScript and Cookies enabled).

Benefits for Test Sites
Participation in the National Sexual Assault Response Team Toolkit pilot
testing will provide sites the following:
* Opportunity for communities to receive tools and customized,
intensive technical assistance
* Opportunity for communities to impact the direction of the SART
Toolkit
* Acknowledgement of pilot test sites in final product
* $1,000 consultation fee per team and advance copies of final SART
Toolkit product.
