Hello,
The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance is providing a
training in Richmond at The General Assembly Building on November 15th,
2006.
The "Legislative Advocacy: Effectively Communicating with Your
Legislators" training will provide information and opportunities to
develop skills to be influential as advocates in the state and federal
processes through hands-on interactive activities involving one of our
lobbyists and a legislator on site at the General Assembly. You will
learn:
¨ how to develop relationships with elected officials;
¨ ways to involve your Board members, staff, volunteers, survivors,
contributors, professional allies and other local constituents in
advocating for your clients and programs;
¨ about 2007 legislative priorities.
