Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Assault in the
Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Questioning Community



July 19, 9:30 am-4:00 pm

Fairfax, Pennino Human Services Building



This training will provide information to advocates in domestic violence and
sexual assault agencies as well as to those working in LGBTQ service agencies so
that they are more prepared to outreach and serve LGBTQ individuals who are
experiencing or have experienced intimate partner violence and/or sexual
assault. Training will be provided by the LGBTQ Task Force of the Action
Alliance.



Intended audience: sexual and domestic violence advocates, advocates for members
of LGBTQ communities, and allied professionals

Cost: $50 for members of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Action Alliance, $70
for nonmembers; lunch is provided (To become a member, visit our website at

The LGBTQ Task Force of the Action Alliance has made money available for

TRAINERS:

Liz Cascone works at VSDVAA where she coordinates statewide projects that
enhance the response to, and prevention of, domestic and sexual violence.



Quillin Drew has been participating in alternative community responses to
interpersonal violence for ten years. Quillin served on the board and organizing
body of the Richmond Queer Space Project.



Ted Heck monitors HIV prevention contracts for the Virginia Department of
Health, and coordinates the Virginia Transgender Task Force. Ted has an MS in
Criminal Justice and wrote his thesis on prevention and services for victims of
anti-LGBT hate crimes.



Stacie Vecchietti works at the Department of Criminal Justice Services where she
monitors funding and provides training to organizations that promote the
apprehension, prosecution, and adjudication of persons who commit crimes related
to interpersonal violence.



CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend this training, you may send
someone else in your place for no extra charge. If, however, you need to cancel
your registration, if you do so by July 16 your registration fee (minus a $15
processing fee) will be refunded. If you cancel after July 16, your registration
fee minus $35 will be refunded.
