For the first time ever, the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence (NAESV) and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) are hosting national Legislative Action Days April 3 - 5 in Washington DC. Visits to Congress members will occur on April 4th.
This is an important event for sexual assault advocates to attend to support funding for the new Sexual Assault Services Act and other initiatives from the Violence Against Women Act.
VSDVAA will be attending this event and will work with local sexual assault crisis centers to make sure all 13 Virginia members of the Congress will get visited by constituents. In the past we have promoted local program attendance at the NNEDV Lobby Day in June, however this year it conflicts with the VSDVAA retreat. So, if you are interested in educating members of Congress, and you also want to attend the retreat, we encourage you to attend the NAESV/NCADV Action Day in April.
