is collected. The below information is about the Data Use Workshops. There
is another that is not applicable to community partners called Data

Prevention Through Intervention VA Workshops
Discipline, Crime and Violence (DCV) data from local school districts and
the Department of Education
PTI Data Use Workshops will focus on the use of discipline,
crime, and violence data for school- and community-based prevention program
management, including use in a needs assessment process, to develop
performance measures, to select interventions, to monitor progress, and to
report progress to public. The workshop will also focus on proactive
strategies for educating key stakeholders and the public about DCV data and
engaging them in prevention efforts. These workshops are designed for school
safety teams and school division/community prevention planning teams.

Prior Requirement
Workshop participants will be expected to have reviewed the
online tutorial before attending workshops. Also developed as a product of
the PTI-VA initiative is an online tutorial on DCV data reporting that may
be accessed at http://www.dcvreport.org. After you register at the DCV
website, you will get a confirmation page. Print that out and bring it with
you to your PTI workshop.
Additional Information
These workshops are being offered at no charge to
participants. Registration begins at 8:30am. Workshop runs from 9:00 am to
3:30 pm. Lodging and travel expenses are the responsibilities of the
participants. Expenses may be paid from federal funding already available
to the school division under the Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited to no more than 50
