NCIPC is soliciting investigator-initiated
research that will help expand and advance our understanding of violence, its
causes, and prevention strategies. Applications must address one of the research
objectives listed in this RFA.
Approximately $1,960,000 is expected to be
available.
Six to eight awards will be funded.
Funding level will not exceed $300,000
(including both direct and indirect costs) per year.
Project period is up to three years.
The award mechanism is a R49 grant.
Eligible organizations include public and
private profit and nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, research
institutions, hospitals, community-based organizations, faith-based
organizations, Indian tribal governments and organizations, and state and local
governments.
To be eligible for this RFA, the principal
investigator must have conducted violence prevention research and published the
findings in a peer-reviewed journal.
Principal investigators are encouraged to
submit only one grant application in response to this RFA. With few exceptions
only one application per principal investigator will be funded under this
announcement.
