NCIPC is soliciting investigator-initiated research that will help expand and advance our understanding of violence, its causes, and prevention strategies. Applications must address one of the research objectives listed in this RFA.

Approximately $1,960,000 is expected to be available.

Six to eight awards will be funded.

Funding level will not exceed $300,000 (including both direct and indirect costs) per year.

Project period is up to three years.

The award mechanism is a R49 grant.

Eligible organizations include public and private profit and nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, research institutions, hospitals, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, Indian tribal governments and organizations, and state and local governments.

To be eligible for this RFA, the principal investigator must have conducted violence prevention research and published the findings in a peer-reviewed journal.
