The Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance

There outta be a law . . .

Have you ever:
ċ Been confused about the sexual assault and child sexual abuse laws in
Virginia?
ċ Wanted to know more about the protective order process?
ċ Been concerned about whether you were giving appropriate information and
advice to clients about laws ¡V and if it was OK to give advice about laws?
ċ Been overwhelmed by all the complicated civil issues that can be involved in
domestic violence cases?
ċ Wondered how the laws changed this year?
ċ Wanted to talk to other advocates about legal challenges and successes you
face in your service area, and get some help in problem-solving?

The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance (VSDVAA) and the
Virginia Poverty Law Center (VPLC) are coming to your region to talk about
sexual assault and domestic violence laws in Virginia. Don¡¦t miss this
exciting opportunity to get answers to these questions and more!

WHEN August 24 Fredericksburg (10 ¡V 3)
& August 25 Richmond (12 ¡V 4)
WHERE? August 31 Front Royal (10 ¡V 3)
September 15 Norfolk (10 ¡V 3)

HOW MUCH? The registration fee is $15 for the Fredericksburg, Front Royal and
Norfolk trainings, and covers the cost of lunch and materials. The Richmond
training will not include lunch, and the fee will be $5 for to cover the cost of
materials.

(VSDVAA and VPLC will also be presenting information on new sexual and domestic
violence laws at the Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society training in Radford
on October 13 and Bristol on October 14. More information to come).
