Job Description: The James House Intervention/Prevention Services is a
non-profit sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking crisis center
located in Hopewell, Virginia, serving the Tri-Cities and surrounding
counties. Cost-free, confidential services are provided by staff and
volunteers, and include hospital and court accompaniment, counseling
services, support groups, community outreach, and more.
Currently, we are seeking an Underserved Populations Outreach and Support
Specialist, who will conduct surveys, focus groups, and needs assessments,
research available state and local data, and develop coordinated community
efforts to address the needs of, and provide direct services to
racial/ethnic minorities, non-English speaking individuals, physically or
emotionally challenged persons, older women, non-hearing persons, women
isolated in rural areas, and persons who identify as LGBTQ and/or
inter-sexed persons.
This is a 38-hour per week paid position which requires a dedicated person
who brings a combination of 5 years of experience/education in the field,
and who is willing to volunteer their time for on-call shifts and work
occasional weekends.
