I spoke with PREVENT and found out that there is still space available for
the June and October trainings. They also offer a $200 stipend for travel
expenses. This is a very comprehensive training for your community to
address any issue related to violence prevention. Get a team together and
apply today. -Becky Odor

PREVENT Workshops will introduce teams skills and knowledge necessary to
prevent violence before it happens. Two-day introductory workshops will
focus on defining and understanding the idea of preventing violence as well

maltreatment, suicide prevention, etc.), will benefit from this workshop and
are encouraged to apply. This is a team based training.

The goals of this training are to:

primary prevention, public health approach, risk & protective factors,
socio-ecological model)
2) Plan & evaluate programs and activities that prevent violence (concepts
include: evidence-based framework, systematic planning process, logic
models, evaluation methods)
3) Build a network of colleagues
4) Get started on a violence prevention project and receive coaching
assistance about that project for three months
