Description: |
The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study examines how traumatic childhood experiences affect adult health and well-being. The ACE Study reveals a strong relationship between emotional experiences that occur in childhood and adult physical and mental health. It documents how adverse emotional experiences in childhood lead to organic disease later in life. The ACE study is a collaborate effort between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Kaiser Permanente’s Department of Preventive Medicine in San Diego, California. For more information, see the ACE Study website at www.acestudy.org.
