Medical Outreach Coordinator for Violence Prevention #FH036
This position requires a dedicated, professional person to provide
and/or coordinate training and educational activities to improve
health care providers' involvement in screening, counseling and
referrals related to domestic violence, sexual violence, youth
violence, and self-directed violence. The candidate will be
responsible for becoming knowledgeable about all areas of violence;
networking with diverse health provider groups (e.g. family
physicians, ob/gyns, internists, dentists, ophthalmologists, medical
schools and local health departments) and victim services providers
(e.g. sexual violence,domestic violence and suicide crisis centers);
and will provide training on pre-existing screening and counseling
resources. The candidate will also be expected to routinely provide
information for posting to an agency website dedicated to this area.
Preferred candidates will: possess considerable knowledge and
interest in injury and violence prevention; be comfortable working
with a variety of audiences, especially health providers; have
significant training experience; have experience coordinating
educational and or social marketing campaigns; have policy analysis
and development expertise; have excellent oral and written skills; be
able to act independently and manage multiple tasks; have research
skills; have a demonstrable ability to use PowerPoint, Excel and Word
(MS Office Suite) as well as the Internet and e-mail. This position
will require occasional statewide travel with state vehicle. Prefer
master's degree with major course work in public health, health
education, social marketing or a related field and/or equivalent
experience. Hiring range $36,766-$58,826 based on previous salary
