The Right Choices for Youth (RCFY) initiative at the Virginia
Department of Health is happy to announce the publication of the
first ever Prom Magazine dedicated to fostering communication between
junior and senior prom attendees and their parents. The Prom is
associated with many risky behaviors including alcohol, drugs, sexual
activity, and tobacco usage.
The purpose of these free resources is to promote communication
between prom attendees and their parents to support risk-free Prom
nights. Most youth do not engage in these risky behaviors, and
communication between parents and youth is essential in order for
youth to maximize their health and reach goals. The magazine is
being published in two editions: one for youth, one for parents.
We currently need help distributing these two editions throughout
Virginia. If you are interested in receiving and can help distribute
these magazines (through schools, PTA, clubs, tuxedo/dress stores,
etc.), please email Brian Ambrose at brian.ambrose@....
Orders must be for a minimum of 50. So if you're interested, please
send an email of how many copies you would like and an address to
send them. There is no charge for the magazines, and no charge for
shipping.
Please contact Brian Ambrose if you need more information at (804)
