We had been hoping that this year the sexual assault statutes would
change to allow us to create a new version of the Marital Sexual
Assault brochure that reflected this change... unfortunately, that
didn't happen!

Until we know exactly what's going to happen with this, I have created
a fact sheet for survivors that is based on the old brochure but which
contains language that is consistent with the current state of the law
in Virginia. The law doesn't make much sense, and the people you
advocate for may need it explained, but at least there will be
something available that explains their rights and what marital sexual
assault means.

This fact sheet can be downloaded in PDF format from the VAASA website.
Just click on the "information" link and scroll down to the bottom of
