Youth Violence & Suicide Prevention Consultant (#FH001)

This position coordinates a statewide youth violence and suicide prevention
program for the Center for Injury and Violence Prevention.
Duties include: developing and coordinating initiatives to increase
community-based use of best practices approaches to suicide and youth
violence prevention; suicide and youth violence prevention training for
statewide audiences; interagency planning, evaluation, grant development and
reporting responsibilities associated with a CDC suicide prevention
cooperative agreement; delivery of applicable information, resources,
referral and public awareness activities including topic specific websites;
creation of legislative and other reports/presentations; needs/resource
assessment and program evaluation.
Ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of violence and suicide
risk and protective factors and public health approaches to prevention,
experience with assessment, multi-agency planning, and coordination of
educational projects; strong networking abilities, excellent oral and
written communication skills, ability to work independently and manage
multiple tasks. Prefer Masters degree in public health, community health
education, social work, education, marketing, or equivalent combination of
training and experience.
Job is located in Richmond. Salary: $34,910-$56,000. To apply, mail or fax
