"Best Practices in School-Based Youth Violence Prevention"
-- One-Day Conference --
April 1, 2003, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Virginia Commonwealth University campus, Richmond, VA
Join educators from across Virginia as national experts on youth violence
prevention provide the latest effective, science-based strategies in youth
violence prevention. Breakout sessions will offer nuts-and-bolts information
about model programs that are available for use in Virginia schools. All
participants will receive an extensive resource packet and will have the
chance to win free best practice program materials.
This day-long event promises to be the largest of its type ever held in the
Commonwealth, with representatives of 19 nationally recognized best practice
programs scheduled to provide workshop sessions. As funding sources are
increasingly requiring that all funded programs show scientific evidence of
their effectiveness, this "Best Practices in School-Based Violence
Prevention" conference provides an excellent opportunity to find programs
that have been shown to work and that best meet the needs and resources of
your community.
The deadline for a discounted early registration fee of $25 is March 21.
After March 21, registration at the full conference fee of $35 will be
available as space permits.
