I have been treated for chronic UTI for the past 5 years. I acquired this UTI
when I was catheterized after abdominal surgery. Now my doctor tells me that the
bacteria is resistant to all antibiotics except Rocephin (which must be given by
injection by a visiting nurse). Also, I have to see an Infectious Disease
Specialist. I am wondering if anyone else has received this medication. Or has
anyone else had this type of persistent difficult UTI. I am becoming frustrated
and even frightened. Thinking that I have acquired an infection that wont go
away after years of antibiotics. Can anyone offer encouragement or information
for me? Thank you.
