I have not yet had my son diagnosed for Sotos, but have been quietly
investigating this syndrome. My son will be 4 soon and continues to
drool excessively. Does anyone have this problem? He is rather big
for his age, 48 lbs and as tall as first grader. He did have some
speech therapy from at age 2 and graduated from therapy by age 3. He
speaks wonderfully well, is very curious (asks millions of
questions), LOVES to be read to and will sit and read up to 5 books
at a time. He loves to draw his family (stick like figures) and is
almost able to write his name. He also has a great sense of humor
and is the sweetest most cuddly boy. :)
Some of his Sotos like symptoms are, large hands, feet, joints, large
long head, height and weight way above 90 percentile. He continues to
drool (biggest problem), weak teeth enamal, etc.
Our family doctor doesn't think he is Sotos but was refered to an ENT
specialist for his drooling instead. If the ENT will decide whether
to refer me to pediatric neurologist for further diagnosis. Did
anyone take thise steps to diagnose your child. Please Share!
