RE: [UndiagnosedOvergrowthSyndromes] Update on my Nephew

Hi Tam,

I would say that dev ped is wrong too!!!!  9 months is the tail end of the normal range for sitting up and he is going to be 1 year old.  1 year old kids should be trying to crawl or move around or even walk.  Tam, does he roll over yet?  Not feeding himself finger foods either?  Wow that doc does not seem to “there” if you know what I mean.  I know this must be so frustrating for you to see this going on and them doing nothing to find answers.  Good luck and I hope they stop hiding their heads in the sand…I know it is not easy to face, but it only hurts him in long run.

Take care,

Pam J

Subject: [UndiagnosedOvergrowthSyndromes] Update on my Nephew

Hey all,
I have been busy, but I thought I would come over and give you an
update on my nephew.  Well he will be 1 year old shortly and is still
behind developmentally.  SIL and brother know he is behind but aren't
trying to find out why (except that he has a big head and very low
muscle tone - SOTOS!?!? I wonder where there ped is?!).  He isn't
crawling, can't sit up by himself, isn't pulling himself up to stand,
no finger feeding (can't pick anything up) eats primarily baby food
which is fed to him.  He is getting bigger by the moment, I just hope
some doctor says something to them soon!!!

Developmental ped said he is at the level of a 9 month old, but I
disagree, he isn't anywhere near my 9 mo. old twins and they aren't
ahead by any stretch.

Just getting more and more frustrated by the day!!!!!!!

Tam
