My daugher is in preschool and gets a snack each day. I just send her own snack with her each day. I don't trust other parents, even if they mean well. Gluten has such a wide scope that they really don't understand. Even well meaning friends sometimes mess up with food when we go to their houses. So I always take food for may daughter.
At beginning of year I send a small airtight container full of "just in case" snacks: pretzels, hershey bars, fruit snacks...) Then I check on it throughout the year in case I need to replenish. This is in case her snack falls on floor, or someone brings in an unexpected goodie.
The kinds of snacks I send when it is my daughters turn to bring in the snack for the whole class are: fruit snacks, Namaste Muffins (Can put blueberries or chocolate chips in them), Envirokidz cereal bars, pretzels. When it is her birthday I send in NAmaste chocolate cupcakes (made from chocolate cake mix) or special holidays I bake NAmaste cookies (sugar cutouts) for the class. The kids love them all and never say they taste different.
Hope this helps.
