Dextrose is a sugar .  I work in a plant where we break down corn starch into dextrose. It can be derived form other carbos.  It is used im many forms. Sweeteners for foods, many manufacturers use it for other reasons.  I don't think it is harmful to the average healthy person within reason. It is in many gf items.

Celiac.com's safe list of foods includes dextrose. I have read elsewhere that dextrose can be refined from corn or wheat so it could be suspect if this is...
