Hiya everyone

If you've got young eyes around then close this message now as I'm not in a very good mood!

We've just got back from seeing my parents and, as always, my father was a real <insert swear word of choice> about me being ill! He said that my illness was all in my head and that I wasn't really ill as no-one else in the family had and I'm too young (I'm 31) to get either MS or Muscular Dystrophy which, if I'd thought about it at the time I could have said "yeah, that's why I was referred to a Neurologist!" but dumbo me didn't think of that at the time!

I guess I've got to get used to people saying that though as when I'm sitting down you wouldn't have a clue that I was ill!

Has this happened to any of you? If it has, what did you say in reply?

I'm in crappy marriage and just went through a recent break up. Right now I am looking for a distraction - nothing serious, nothing with major drama. Someone to talk to, hang out with, and occasionally make out with for hours on end.

I'm in my early 40s, hot (that is not just my own egotistical opinion) and in great shape. Ideally I'd prefer someone between 35 and 50. If the chemistry isn't there it just isn't and we can move on quickly.

I remember reading that a lumbar puncture can be used to diagnose MS so I've added it to the list of things that I'm going to ask the Neurologist next time I see him. What happens when you have a lumbar puncture and does it hurt?

Hiya everyone

I had a blood test more than 24 hours ago and it feels like there is a bruise that is being constantly pushed on where the needle went in and it is constantly aching... that's never happened before and was just wondering (I've had to rest my arm 4 times so far and I haven't even written a sentence yet) if anyone had ever felt that before? Should I add it to my list of symptoms ready to give the Neuro next time I see him? I know you're not doctors and you can't diagnose me and I'm not asking you to, I'm just wondering if it's worth mentioning next time I see the Neuro?

Hiya everyone

The appointment with the Neurologist went badly, as I was expecting! He's 99% certain that I don't have MS but he's referring me for a "brain scan" just to get the other 1% sure. Apparently I have "unusual neuro symptoms" according to the blood test form thing I had done and I definitely don't have Korsikov Syndrome (what I was diagnosed with when I came out of hospital 5 years ago) and I don't have CJD either as the growth hormone I took wasn't in the sort that caused it.

I failed 2 of the tests he did on me... he hammered away at my knees and ankles and there were no reflex symptoms and he ran a key up my feet to test for something or other and I failed that one too! I think I failed the memory... ooh! hold on, there was a 3rd test that I failed! He wanted me to stand with my feet together, arms out in front of me and close my eyes which I couldn't do! I think I failed the memory test too as I had to rely on Steve (the hubby) to remember things for me!

I'm not going to give up though, I'm pretty sure that I've got MS based on what I've read online so if I have to I'll turn into a pest! I don't want to but I'm a stubborn lil madam when I want to be so I'm not going to give up until I've got a diagnosis!

I've got an appointment with a Neurologist on Tuesday at 10am and I'm getting really nervous now! So nervous that I'm shaking!! Other than giving him my list of symptoms what else do I say to him to get him to diagnose me with MS please? What do I do if he says there is nothing wrong with me?

I've just realised I don't know how to write any more... I don't even know how to hold a pen! I can still read and type and that isn't a problem but I can't remember how to even hold a pen or which end to use or how to get the words onto paper! Is this an MS symptom or is it just 'cos I've not had to write anything since leaving hospital?
