I've posted this message on a couple of groups already, just want to
reach as many people as I can..so if you have seen this before
sorry..
My name is Sarah and I am writing in behalf of my sister Laura.  She
is 23 and 3 weeks ago presented with Optical Neuritis.  She has had
an MRI to be sure of the diagnosis and also, no MS was seen to be
present in her eye.  She was warned that Optical Neuritis can be the
first sign of MS tho.

Last week, her whole leg slowly turned numb and heavy until she
could only drag her leg about and pull her foot from under her like
a flipper.  She still has a basically 'lifeless' foot, with only a
little toe movement.

Her doctor firstly told her that it is most probably MS.  She has
gone back to see him today and as her foot is not 100% better he has
told her that it will probably never get better...he has also
mentioned a fatal illness which it may be in place of MS but would
not give her the name again to look up, but this has frightened us
more than the MS....

As you can imagine, we are all in a panic and so I have turned to
the internet for help.  I myself have type 1 diabetes and psoriatic
arthritis...our mum has sjrogrens syndrome, so auto immune disease
runs in the family.

I'm hoping someone will hear something familiar about my story.  We
are totally new to this and are really scared about what it is and
what will happen.  I know from my own diseases that you have to
research yourself to find answers and the best treatments.  So I
really hope someone can offer some advice as we don't know what to
do or think about this situation.

Hello all my name is Heidi I just turned 32 yrs old last month and
back in January I had one doctor diagnois me with Pakinson's Disease
then only 2 weeks later my family doctor who is also a neuro surgeon
said he felt it was MS. My family doctor did do a blood work up which
found a B-12 defiecency and started me on B-12 shots every 2 weeks
which started to help then my insurance was canceled so I have been
without them for 2 months now and I can tell.
     Ok my question is I have called Shared Solutions the makers of
Copaxone the people there are and were very helpful they are basically
forcing the doctors' hands (both of them) to start me on the shots for
MS as there are no side effects if taken and find out later it is not
MS. Has anyone started or taken meds for MS and later found out it was
in fact not MS??? Are there any health dangers to taking the shots???
Any suggestions or ideas on this????

I am new to the group and I am hoping you all can give me your advice!
I am 31 and live in Illinois!

I normally don't go to the Doctor since they never help things! But I
have been accumulating symptoms for some time now.
8 years ago I started getting blurred vision off and on..Drs brushed it
off as migrains....never believed them because the headache could come
on AFTER my eyes had strained for about an hour.
2 1/2 years ago I have been getting numbness in my right toes usually
while active with and without shoes....While flossing my teeth or
putting on makeup I also get this sensation in my ankles like bugs
crawling on them.following numb toes..Sounds crazy I know!
I endded up with pnuemonia last Feb and since it seems I am falling
apart! Following this I ended up with renal colic from stones. Also more
spells of blurred vision with the eye pain. I have not had Migraines but
will have a headache following.
Last April I had lithotripsy for Kidney stones and since have been
having this ongoing pain on my outer left thigh. It started like a
bruise but one never appeared! Now I get stabbing pains and numbness and
dull & sharp pain at the same time. Hard to describe! I have also been
waking up off and on with pain in the right side of my neck. Starting at
the bottom of skull and moving downward towards my shoulder.

I am in the process of having my B12 and Folic Acid checked and will
find out tomorrow but I just WISH I had an answer!

Any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I know I have not written in a while, I hope everyone is well. So how
is the hot weather treating everyone? Of course I have optic neuritis
again and feel a flare up of symptoms coming on (and to think summer
was my favorite season). Has anyone else had symptoms excerbated since
the change in seasons? I have appointments w/ both my neuro and optho
dr's. I think it is time for me to get another MRI (Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Last time they found a lesion and I am curious if there will be
another one. Well gotta run, hope you are all doing well

It is that time of year again here in Utah.  The MS150 bike tour is
coming up June 25 & 26, and I am trying to raise donations for the
Utah chapter of the National MS Society.  Any help would be
appreciated.
I am riding this year in memory of my mother Sue Ann Snow, who passed
away this February after bravely living with Multiple Sclerosis for
over 20 years.  She was an amazing woman who rarely complained about
her condition and never let on how bad she felt.
Last year I raised $485 for the MS Society.  This year I am hoping to

Hi, I was diagnosed with vit B12 deficiency about a year and a half
ago.  The injections I received to increase my B12 level did not work,
however, oral B12 did work.  My problem is my body does not store the
B12, when I came off the pills at my doctor's request my B12 level
dropped from above 2000 to below 300 in just three weeks.  I have been
unable to find anyone with a similar situation on the internet and
would greatly appreciate any feedback available.

It makes a lot of sense.  This group is the only group
i have found others w/it.  My b12 was really really
low.

Just curious: After complaining for months about numbness and tingling
in both legs, calves, and feet, I finally went to the Doctor. After
taking my blood, I found out that I have a Vitamin B-12 deficiency.
Since my mother has a mild case of MS, numbness, tiredness and one
time Optic Nueritis, I'm nervous that this deficiency might be
connected somehow to MS. Has anyone ever thought that there may be a
connection?
