Sounds like you have a family like mine! :) My sons
try to help, but only one still lives at home (the
other is 19 & has a place with his best friend &
fiance) & the other is 15, but has medical problems &
an autistic disorder. So he tries, but just isn't very
good at it. He doesn't care much about cleanliness
because of the autistic disorder & is sort of like a 5
or 6 yr. old in most of his abilities anyway. The
older one does what he can, but you know how crazy
life is when you are that age so I try not to ask too
much from him. He should be enjoying this part of his
life & dealt with enough when he lived here. My
husband doesn't clean up at all. He works about 80-90
hours a week to give him credit, but he complains
about the mess without ever trying to do anything &
that really gets to me. When I do clean up I end up in
bed for a couple of days miserable, so it really
sucks. I can't even take a freaking bath right now
because of the surgery & our downstairs bathroom is
now in the dining room because it has been being
renovated for a couple months now. So if I want to
clean up I have to do the sponge bath thing. YUCK!! He
put the tub/shower in over a month ago, but somehow
can't manage to finish it so I can get clean! Sorry, I
am just really fed up & I am sick of everything being
on my shoulders. Today I did work a bit on picking up
our room. I am tired, but you are right it is nice to
have things a bit better. With all the renovations
around here the messes like dust, etc pretty much have
to just wait because there is too much stuff sitting
around where it doesn't belong to be able to do much.
It is more of a case of straightening the boxes of
stuff that get knocked over by my puppies & stuff like
that. Nice to get all this off my chest though!!
Thanks!
