Hiya everyone!

Went and checked in with my neuro today. Thought I would share.

She is getting me hooked up with a GP that I can go to and start
seeing on a regular basis. I'm really not going to anyone when I'm
having the rib pain, dizziness, and cramping that has been bad
lately. She wants me to be seen by someone who can evaluate what's
going on and decide if it's part of the rest of this junk, or if I
need more tests. Like, havign the GP test my Gallbladder to
eliminate that as the pain in my ribs.

She said that the rib pain sounds like that of MS. She was
tentative about having another spinal MRI, I haven't had one since
March of 03. But, we decided to wait it out until the rib pain (or
any other more severe sx) is around for a period of longer than a
couple of weeks. My ribs have been feeling better this last week.

She said that they would be able to pinpoint the area of the spine
that would have a lesion on it causing the "hug." But, they would
still have a hard time finding it (if it's even there) because as of
now it would probably look like a little teeny, teeny, teeny, tiny
dot.

She also gave me the name of a highly recommended shrink at my
request. I've been looking around for someone to go and talk to and
would really like it if it was someone who she could also
communicate with.

She's starting me on Sinemet. It's a drug used mainly for
Parkinson's and to help people with Restless Legs Syndrome. She
said that she has a handful of MS patients with tricky cramps and
pain take it and it has worked well for them. I'm also curious to
see if it helps with the tremor.

All in all, didn't really learn anything. But, I'm super releived
that i have this doctor. She actually gets sympathetic to my
situation of not being diagnosed with symptoms and said that she
knows I must be frustrated. It really helps knowing that she's on
my side.

She had me go down to the lab so they could draw a bunch more
blood...if I don't hear anything then it means they all were okay.
Think she was redoing my ANA for Lupus, re-checking my CPK and
Lyme's, and some arthritis stuff...

I go back in two months...
Until then, hope to hear from you guys. Keep in touch.
~Dana
