Connie and Pat,
So far we have just the 2 nominations for office, the two of you.
Would you consider taking office now and then recruite a VP and
Treasurer later? If you decide against this idea we will have no
board and will need to post to the member list asking for ideas of
how to dissolve the guild. As with any group like this the third
year is usually the make or break point. It is possible we have
already broken and now we're just beating a dead horse. We would
hate for that to be true, and would miss being part of this guild.
This is how the books stand right now - 23 current members, bank
balance $1366.71, upcoming expenses - Internet Hosting $29.97 (Sept-
Oct)
If we can't get a new board we will have to disburse the moneys:
1. Upon the dissolution of the "Guild" assets shall be
distributed
for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)
(6) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of
any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal
government, for a public purpose. Any such assets not so disposed
of shall be disposed of by a Court of Competent Jurisdiction of the
county in which the principal office of the corporation is then
located, exclusively for such purposes or to such organization or
organizations, as said Court shall determine, which are organized
and operated exclusively for such purpose.
We are not trying to pressure either one of you, we only want to
give you as much information as possible. We will extend the
nominations for one week, until 8/5/04. We need your answer by then
so we can proceed.
Rosie and Julie
We have also posted this to the election list so everyone knows
where we stand.
