Okay, I'm drawing a blank here and need some help, please.

Last year I made kitchen soap just by taking my regular recipe and adding
coffee grounds and corn meal. And I remember that I didn't account for
the extra weight/volume of the extra stuff, and the soap barely fit in my
soap mold (and I usually have extra space at the top of my mold.)

What's the best way to adjust the recipe (i.e. adjust "down" the amount of
oils) to account for the extra stuff? I keep thinking I have to take my
normal weight of oils, deduct the weight of the extra stuff and then
allocate the remaining weight, by percentage, to each of my oils. Seems
to me there must be a better way to do this without getting so technical.
I'm going to work it out this way anyway, but thought someone must have a
better idea!

Karen

Hi Kathy! How're you doin'? How're the puppies? Thanks for the input! No, I don't use FO in it but I'm afraid to cut back on the water any further since I...

Hi Karen, Can't tell you how many times I have recalculated in the past year. A pain but I like consistency. Dogs are happy. Sunday was the last pheasant...

Great minds run in the same channels, Kathy! I was going to suggest discounting the water, too. My next suggestion would be to cut back on the extra oils, if...
