RE: [TypeTwo] Readings?

Hi Kathy,

There is no particular recommended plan of testing that I am aware of. It
really depends on how much your sugars vary. Some people are fortunate that
they have figured out a science of when to take medication and how much and
are good about following their programs. In terms of range. I think normal
is considered between 90 and 110 or so but for diabetics, some don't seem
able to stay in that range so our goal would be as close to 100 as possible.

Personally, I have not been doing well with my sugar control lately and I
don't feel I have changed my program all that much. I guess I my diabetes
is progressing to where it has become harder and harder to keep my sugars at
a safe level. I am trying to figure it out and my doctor is going to put me
on some other meds I think next week. I have recently been over 300 on a
couple of readings where I used to stay easily under 200 and probably under
150 almost all the time. When your sugars are out of control, then I would
think the schedule you mentioned sounds like a good one. If your sugar is
within a few points at the same time every day, then you can probably check
it less frequently.

I am hoping for stem cell research to be approved for all of us and for some
many other people suffering from other diseases, so we have hope for a cure.

For now, I just do my best not to eat high carb foods and maintain exercise
to try to maintain my sugar. I went on meds for hypertension recently and I
wondering if that is why my sugar seems out of control.

The goal of a test plan is to keep your blood surgars in the normal range as much as possible. I believe normal is defined as 70-110 (mg/ dl). You should test...
