I had this sleepiness that I could only equate to pregnancy so I went to
the OB/GYN and I had a 8:30 appt. so I didn't eat breakfast and they took
my urine. She said "you're not pregnant but you have alot of sugar in your
urine" they did a stick which was fasting since I hadn't ate and it came
back at 225.
I had getational 8 years ago as well with my daughter but I controlled with
diet and after I had her I really never followed up or at least the Dr.
didn't worry about it anymore.

I am 53, was tested 1967 after the birth of my first child because he
weighed over 9 pounds. Nothing was found. Then in November 1998 my
supermarket had a table set up from the health department, doing free blood
glucose tests. I had for years been having problems with dizzy spells,
etc. Decided to see if I had LOW glucose levels and tested out at 288!
Sure spoiled the shopping I was doing that day for Thanksgiving Dinner!!
I was never offered or given blood glucose tests at the doctor's office,
but that was probably because the only time I went to the doctor from
1967-1998 was when I pregnant or ill with fever.
